Little Rawdon offers a touch of the old fashioned English beach holiday. The house dates back to the 1920's and has been in the same family since first being built. It has retained much of it's original charm and character and this is all coupled with one of the most exclusive seaside locations in the area. Little Rawdon is a little step back in time on the beautiful West Sussex Coast.
The ground floor has a living room and dining room that both look out over the rear garden of the house to the beach. The garden, with direct access to one of the best beaches on the south coast, is a great for kids to play in also and has an above ground swimming pool to help keep cool on those hot and sunny days or for a swim if the sea isn't quite so inviting.
A breakfast room leads from the characterful hallway to the kitchen. The kitchen is equipped well for guests to be able to comfortably self-cater and includes an oven and hob, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave and a good selection of utensils. The kitchen also leads to the well used play room, which is great for children to be able to play should the weather not be suitable for a day on the beach.
The house has 3 bedrooms, 2 of which offer wonderful views across the beach and out to sea. The third bedroom looks north over open paddocks and towards the South Downs. All the bedrooms have wash basins and there are 2 bathrooms, both with showers over the baths.
Little Rawdon is set on one of the most exclusive private beach estates in the region and has been home to a number of famous names over the years. Located directly on a quiet section of the beach, it is away from the hustle and bustle of the busier areas of West and East Wittering. A popular location for local dog walkers, 4-legged friends will enjoy their time at the beach as much as anyone.
Please note, the owner of the property lives in the annexe attached to the house and so guests do not have exclusive use of the entire property and grounds. The above ground swimming pool is for use at guests own risk and children must be accompanied at all times.
West Wittering village has a local shop, café and a public house that serves good food. There are more extensive facilities in the village of East Wittering, just a couple of miles along the road, and include a choice of butchers, a fishmonger, a greengrocer and 2 supermarkets, among other local shops.
The beautiful cathedral city of Chichester lies just to the north and is famous for its Roman connections, as well as the Festival Theatre which attracts some of the world's top actors. Chichester is dominated by the cathedral and its shopping centre has preserved its heritage and character. The Goodwood Estate lies just to the north of Chichester and, along with its horse racing, is now maybe most famous for the Goodwood Festival of Speed and the Goodwood Revival motor racing events.
The location offers easy access to the cities of Portsmouth and Brighton, both along the south coast. These larger cities offer excellent shopping, as well as attractions such as the Historic Dockyard at Portsmouth, home of the British Navy and the Mary Rose. From Chichester, there is also a rail link direct to London.
