Brightlingsea is also just up the coast so this is a perfect spot for all sailing and boating enthusiasts. The foot ferry to Mersea Island is seen crossing from Brightlingsea and Brightlingsea to Point Clear Bay. Point Clear is like any holiday spot and will be quieter in the winter and busier in summer months. However even in the summer months Point Clear Bay retains its character. Clacton is the nearest large town for bigger shopping facilities at a 7-mile drive away and Brightlingsea a 9.6-mile trip. Views across the Colne Estuary are delightful, so this is a great spot for peace and tranquillity next to the water.
